New York Course Code: HWHBAPNY08                                                 Florida Course Code: HWHBAPFL08 Hazards Within Hotels Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens This course is strictly for the hotel and hospitality industry which is included when we teach the existing Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogen class to your personnel. All staff will learn the most common day to day health problems employees’ face and will be taught what to do under all possible circumstances including the best ways to prevent damage, injury, and contamination. The course is eight (8) hours long and is for all employees of the hotel and others in the hospitality industry to prevent potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials and gases. We will certify your employees for a 2 year period with monthly safety briefs at your staff meetings. This will keep everyone thinking safe  How to limit them and keep down absenteeism. Procedures based on OSHA “Universal Precautions of PPE/barriers, Engineering Controls, and Work Practices:  The OSHA standard–OSHA 1910.1030. Requires specific precautions for employees within health care related fields, Designated First Aiders, and others whose jobs will likely expose them to Blood borne pathogens. Although hotels are not specifically covered by the standard, a reasonable, minimal approach is recommended to ensure employees are:  (1) Workers need to be aware of the hazards  (2) Learn the most common day to day injury methods employees’ face. (3) Know what to do under all possible circumstances.  (4) What to do to prevent injury? Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens includes supplemental information on airborne pathogens such as tuberculosis and others. The included manual and supplemental information is developed for use within infection control courses offered through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute. Designed to meet the current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training requirements, Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens, Sixth Edition is designed to teach students and employees how to prepare for potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens, Sixth Edition also includes supplemental information on airborne pathogens, such as tuberculosis, and other unusual infectious diseases.
